Ready to build your recruitment career in Engineering?

Are you a Recruitment Resourcer or Recruitment Consultant who enjoys finding great talent, building relationships with candidates and matching skilled professionals with exciting career opportunities? Perhaps you’re an experienced 360 recruiter looking to focus more on delivery and candidate management, or an ambitious recruiter ready to develop your skills within a supportive, established team.

At ATA Recruitment, we’re looking for a motivated Recruitment Consultant to join our White Collar Engineering team in Leicester, specialising in Design and Project Engineering.

Working closely with an experienced Principal Consultant, you’ll support established client accounts by sourcing high-quality engineering professionals, managing candidates throughout the recruitment process and helping deliver successful placements. You’ll initially focus on the 180 recruitment side of the desk, allowing you to develop your market knowledge, candidate management skills and commercial understanding before progressing towards a full 360 recruitment role, if desired.

You’ll receive structured training, ongoing coaching and the opportunity to learn from an experienced consultant, with a clear route to taking on greater responsibility as your skills and confidence develop.

The Role

As a 180 Recruitment Consultant, you’ll play a key role in delivering recruitment solutions across the Design and Project Engineering market, supporting an established desk and helping identify the talent our clients need.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Candidate Sourcing: Proactively identify and attract engineering professionals through Sourcebots, job adverts, internal databases, LinkedIn and other sourcing channels.
  • Candidate Management: Manage the candidate journey from initial contact and qualification through to interview preparation, feedback, offer management and placement.
  • Role Delivery: Work on approximately two live vacancies per week, taking ownership of the candidate attraction and delivery process in partnership with the Principal Consultant.
  • Candidate Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with candidates, developing an active talent pipeline across Design and Project Engineering.
  • Database Development: Keep candidate records accurate and up to date, ensuring our database remains a valuable source of qualified engineering talent.
  • Lead Generation: Identify potential new clients, market opportunities and sales leads, recording relevant information and passing it to the Principal Consultant to support business development.
  • Account Support: Help service established client accounts, contributing to a high-quality recruitment experience and building your understanding of client requirements.
  • Commercial Development: Learn how recruitment activity translates into business opportunities, placements and revenue, developing the commercial awareness needed to progress into a 360 role.

As you develop, you’ll have the opportunity to become a second point of contact for key customers, build stronger client relationships and gradually take on responsibility for business development and account management.

The long-term goal is to develop you into a confident 360 Recruitment Consultant, capable of managing both the candidate and client sides of the recruitment process.

About You

While technical engineering recruitment experience isn’t required, our ideal candidate will have worked within a complementary sector. You might be an experienced 360 consultant who enjoys recruitment but wants to move away from the constant pressure of new business development, or a Resourcer/Recruitment Consultant who is ready for more structured training and progression.

What matters most is your ability to source quality candidates, build relationships and your desire to develop commercially.

You’ll ideally bring:

  • Previous recruitment experience, whether as a Recruitment Resourcer, Recruitment Consultant or 360 Consultant.
  • Strong sourcing skills and the ability to identify, engage and qualify suitable candidates.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with candidates at different levels.
  • A proactive, organised approach to managing multiple vacancies and candidate pipelines.
  • An interest in Design and Project Engineering, with the motivation to learn a specialist engineering market.
  • Commercial awareness and an interest in generating leads, identifying opportunities and developing your sales skills.
  • A genuine desire to progress into a 360 recruitment role over time.
  • Strong written and spoken English, alongside a professional and positive attitude.

Experience within engineering recruitment would be beneficial, but it isn’t essential. Full sector training and ongoing support will be provided.
