About us

impact Academies & Camps is an international children's academy for coding, robotics and digital skills, now opening in Watford and Harrow. Our mission is to turn children's screen time into something positive: instead of just scrolling and gaming, they learn to create. They build and program robots, code their own games and solve problems in teams.

The role

You'll teach small groups of up to 15 children aged 5–17 using impact's ready-made curriculum and lesson plans, supported by a teaching assistant.

What you'll do

  • Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Scratch, Minecraft coding, Python, LEGO Education robotics, and Sphero and Dash robots
  • Follow the curriculum plan and lesson sequence, including practical projects and end-of-module assessments
  • Take the register and record lesson notes, homework and resources in our online system (ALFA CRM) after each lesson
  • Keep in touch with students weekly through the CRM, and give progress feedback after each module
  • Run taster/demo lessons for new families
  • Keep good discipline and a safe, positive classroom, look after the equipment, and leave the room ready for the next group

What we're looking for

  • A student or recent graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, Maths, Education or a related subject (or equivalent experience)
  • Confident with computers and some coding (Scratch, Python or similar)
  • Patient, clear, enthusiastic and good with children. Tutoring, coaching, youth club or STEM club experience is a plus
  • Reliable and punctual, and available for at least 2 weekday afternoons and/or weekend sessions
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Willing to complete an enhanced DBS check (paid by us)

What you'll get

  • £18–£22 per hour, with a pay review after your first term
  • Full training through impact's certified teacher programme, paid
  • Flexible hours that fit around your studies
  • Ready-made lesson plans and materials, so no planning from scratch
  • Real teaching experience for your CV, with a route to Senior Teacher / Education Manager
